In the very cheesy words of the High School Musical cast  “We’re all in this together”

During this uncertain time it is important that all kinds of communities come together whether it is parents of a school which is closed who now need to homeschool or small businesses who usually function in a collaborative work space like Freedom Works.

But just why is this important?

Collaboration is important because it is one of the most powerful tools for all small business owners, regardless of the industry you are in or the type of business you have. It is the connections you form with others, and the different ways you collaborate with those people you form connections with, that will help you grow your business to new levels.

A very key message to remember is that collaboration is a two way process and you can almost guarantee that in every example of a community coming together there has been something to take away whether this is gratitude, an exchanging or skills or perhaps even a financial benefit, the possibilities are almost endless.

Our most recent collaboration success story

Just recently we have seen the outcome of some fantastic collaboration between our very own members here at Freedom Works.

Several Freedom Works members, set out on a mission to raise vital funds for children’s charity, Rockinghorse, which raises money for life-saving equipment, specialist projects and enhanced services for sick babies, children and young people throughout Sussex.

Having had a conversation on how they could make a difference the ‘collective of businesses’ united to launch a website where families can design their own ‘NHS rainbow’ t-shirts, helping to raise much needed COVID-19 funding for the charity.

COVID-19 has meant that the Sussex based charity has lost £50,000 in fundraising opportunities, whilst demands on its hospitals’ equipment and care have never been higher. The businesses who have worked alongside Freedom Works include Brushwood Media, Digibubble, Face Media Group, Jumpstart, Retain, Venture Blue, Shake It Up Creative, Scenestealer and We Are Even.

In just ten days, a web shop and full marketing campaign has come to life alongside a t-shirt print and delivery service. It’s all in aid of helping the official charity arm of Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital as it has found itself having to spend its emergency funding during these exceptional circumstances.

Children and adult sized t-shirts printed with a special “I’m a Rockinghorse Hero” message and rainbows of hope can now be ordered at shop.rockinghorse.org.uk, with 100% profit going directly to Rockinghorse Children’s Charity. The first batch of t-shirt orders should be with customers in time for next Thursday’s NHS Clap, another perfect way to support the country’s health workers during this difficult time.
